Accredited Mental Health Social Worker
Together, We’ll Find What Helps
I'm passionate about walking alongside people as they navigate mental health challenges, life transitions, and recovery. I offer a grounded, compassionate space to help you reconnect with your strengths and move toward meaningful change.

Over the years, I’ve supported hundreds of individuals and firmly believe that you are the expert in your own life. I honour this by working collaboratively—tailoring each session to meet you where you're at, with flexibility and respect.

I bring both professional experience and personal insight to this work. Having faced my own mental health and life challenges, I know how overwhelming it can be to seek help during vulnerable or chaotic times. I’ve held limiting narratives about myself in the past and know just how powerful it can be to feel genuinely seen and supported. These experiences shape my approach—always real, always human.

I support people with:
-
Anxiety, depression & stress
-
Grief & loss
-
Trauma recovery
-
Identity & purpose exploration
-
Relationship & boundary challenges
-
Emotional regulation and nervous system support

Through this work, I help people feel more secure in themselves and in their relationships, grow their confidence, experience less stress, and move through life with greater energy, calm, and clarity. I'm especially passionate about helping people build emotional resilience, set healthy boundaries, and foster deeper, more meaningful connections—with themselves and others.

My approach is neuro-affirming, trauma-informed, and strengths-based. I have extensive experience supporting individuals with ADHD, Autism, and neurodivergent identities. I'm also a proud LGBTIQP+ ally and welcome all identities and expressions into the space.

Therapy with me is warm, collaborative, and centred on what truly matters to you.

Frequently
asked
questions
We want to take the guess work out of connecting with us.
What is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, and how is that different from a Psychologist?
Both are qualified to provide evidence-based therapy and help with issues like anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and life stress. A Mental Health Social Worker also looks at the bigger picture—your relationships, environment, and life experiences—and how these shape your wellbeing. We take a holistic, strengths-based approach and can support you with both emotional and practical challenges, like navigating systems or life transitions. Accredited Mental Health Social Workers (AMHSWs) are registered with the Australian Association of Social Workers and are approved Medicare providers.
What kind of therapy do you offer?
Shane draws on a range of evidence-based therapies to suit your unique needs. These include CBT, ACT, EMDR, Schema Therapy, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing. His approach is person-centred, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. If you'd like to learn more about these modalities, check out our Treatments page.
What's the cost? Can I get a rebate?
The fee is $220 per session. If you have a current Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate of $87.25. We understand that therapy is an investment, and we don’t want cost to stand in the way of you getting the support you deserve. If fees are a concern, please feel free to reach out—we’re happy to explore options such as adjusting the frequency of sessions or, in some cases, reviewing the fee.
Where are you based?
We’re based in Melbourne and currently offer in-person appointments at Hope and Honey in Eltham. Online and phone sessions are also available, so you can access support in a way that works best for you.
What's your cancellation policy?
We get that life happens—and if you can’t make your session, we just ask that you let us know as early as possible so we can offer the spot to someone else. Cancellations or reschedules made within 48 hours will incur 50% of the session fee. No-shows (without notice) will be charged the full fee. Medicare rebates don’t apply to missed or cancelled appointments. Thanks for your understanding—it helps us support as many people as possible.
How can I book my first session?
Easy, just fill in the enquiry form below and we will get in touch to book you in.
